Iverhart Plus for dogs is a once-per-month heartworm preventative that also controls roundworms and hookworms. Iverhart Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) is a generic equivalent to Heartgard Plus. Same active ingredients, same strength. Iverhart Plus is pork liver flavored and Heartgard Plus is beef flavored. Iverhart Plus is considered to be the #1 generic heartworm preventative recommended by veterinarians.

• Iverhart Plus is a prescription medication available as pork liver flavored chewable tablets. The usual dose of Iverhart Plus in dogs up to 25 pounds is 68mcg/57mg (Blue box), for dogs 26-50 pounds is 136mcg/114mg (Green box) and for dogs 51-100 lbs 272mcg/227mg (Brown box). Dogs over 100 lbs are given a combination of tablets.
• Heartworm testing is required prior to the start of prevention therapy and preventative medication must be purchased within 30 days of a negative heartworm test or proof of current regimen.
• Store Iverhart Plus at room temperature.
• Do not remove the tablet from its wrapper until ready to give the medicine.
